Frequently asked questions about SEO

Do you guarantee placement on page 1 of Google™?

Of course not. Search engines change algorithms whenever they want to and there is no way of knowing when, or if, these changes will be made. There are other factors at work as well: Your competitors and their level of SEO intent and sophistication. The best way to become, and remain, visible is to present relevant content in a user-friendly (and search engine-friendly) format - and be aware of your competition.

Our organic SEO services adhere to industry best practices.

What does it mean when other companies "guarantee page 1 placement" on Google™ or other search engines?

The "page 1 placement" you are hearing about is paid advertising (pay-per-click, i.e. PPC), which is based on a bidding process for the "purchase" of certain key words. A more accurate description is that a text ad for your website will appear on "page 1", in the right hand column, next to the search engine's objective and unpaid search results. If a user clicks to your website from the text ad, you pay for the "click".

Most PPC companies charge a monthly or quarterly fee for managing your account, in addition to your "clicks", whether they result in new business - or not. Although click fraud used to be more of an issue, PPC has become more sophisticated and thus reduced problems that occurred during the early days of online advertising.

Can my website be "optimized" without any redesigning?

It is unlikely that significant SEO techniques can be applied to your website without the redevelopment of your website. Search engine optimization requires that specific changes be applied to your site's code, your navigational structure, content, and more. These modifications are difficult, and sometimes impossible, to implement without design work. In order for us to implement a successful Search Engine Optimization strategy, the foundation of your website must be solid.

What is organic search?

Organic, or "natural" search, is unpaid placement. That is, your website appears on the SERPs due to the search engine's determination of your site's relevance for a particular search term or phrase, not because you have purchased ads or placement.
